thanks, this park was in fact my first introduction to the fascinating red rock, i went there few days before going to the death valley, this could explain why i didn't like it very much.

Valley Of Fire is an amazing place, not very famous and not much visited, only ~40 miles east of Vegas and it has a permit free "wave"

"the wave" a.k.a Coyote Butte, an amazing and unique rock formation near the Utah / Arizona border, you need to get a permit or attend a lottery every morning at the nearest BLM.

in the Valley Of Fire there is a similar "wave" called the Fire Wave. less impressive than the real one, yet very interesting and unique.
